The MVP Point ONE water filters contain a high number of tiny ‘U’ shaped hollow fiber micro-tubes that trap contaminants while allowing decontaminated water to freely pass through at a high flow rate — eliminating the need to store water and reducing the possibility of water contamination after the filtration process.

Create a point of use water filtration system in minutes by affixing the 0.1-micron filter to a locally found plastic container. Fill up the bucket with water from a lake, stream, borehole, contaminated well and gravity does the rest. This fast-flowing system produces more than enough clean, safe water for a family’s daily drinking, cooking and cleaning needs. When it clogs or slows down simply backwash it with the included syringe.

• Obtain a clean bucket or plastic container
• Use the hole cutter to drill a hole 1.5 inches from the bottom of the bucket (you can do this by hand).
• Screw the connector, hose, and filter onto the bucket.
• Fill the bucket with water from any source, lower the filter head below the waterline, and let gravity do the rest.

At 0.1 micron absolute, it is impossible for any bacteria, protozoa or cysts to pass through the filter. Other filters at .02 micron absolute, it is impossible for viruses in addition to bacteria, protozoa, and cysts to pass through the purifier. These are true barrier filters.

Waves For Water currently offers the 0.1 filter system. If you're in need of a filtration system dealing with bacteria with the addition of severe viruses then the .02 would be recommended.

Since there is such a high flow rate, this eliminates the need to store water which reduces the chances of water being contaminated after it is filtered. The only external force required for the system to function is GRAVITY. The flow rate of a filter is determined by a combination of:

• Head pressure (The distance from the top of the water to the filter)
• Altitude (The higher the altitude, the slower the flow rate)
• How clean the filter is
• The filter itself (there are slight variations between filters)
