The MVP Filtration system is the fastest, easiest and most cost efficient way to get pure potable water to communities in need.
The MVP Point ONE water filters contain a high number of tiny ‘U’ shaped hollow fiber micro-tubes that trap contaminants while allowing decontaminated water to freely pass through at a high flow rate — eliminating the need to store water and reducing the possibility of water contamination after the filtration process.
Create a point of use water filtration system in minutes by affixing the 0.1-micron filter to a locally found plastic container. Fill up the bucket with water from a lake, stream, borehole, contaminated well and gravity does the rest. This fast-flowing system produces more than enough clean, safe water for a family’s daily drinking, cooking and cleaning needs. When it clogs or slows down simply backwash it with the included syringe.
- Obtain a clean bucket or plastic container
- Use the hole cutter to drill a hole 1.5 inches from the bottom of the bucket (you can do this by hand).
- Screw the connector, hose, and filter onto the bucket.
- Fill the bucket with water from any source, lower the filter head below the waterline, and let gravity do the rest.
What It Removes
Bacteria which cause:
Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid, Amoebic Dysentery, E. coli, Coliform Bacteria, Streptococcus, Salmonella.
Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora
Exceeds EPA Requirements
With a removal rate of 99.99999%
Highest Filtration Rates Available
At 0.1 micron absolute, it is impossible for any bacteria, protozoa or cysts to pass through the filter. Other filters at .02 micron absolute, it is impossible for viruses in addition to bacteria, protozoa, and cysts to pass through the purifier. These are true barrier filters.
Waves For Water currently offers the 0.1 filter system. If you're in need of a filtration system dealing with bacteria with the addition of severe viruses then the .02 would be recommended.
Please note we do not offer or sell the .02 filtration system.
Extremely Cost Efficient
One filtration system could provide clean water for a small village for pennies a day.
Since there is such a high flow rate, this eliminates the need to store water which reduces the chances of water being contaminated after it is filtered. The only external force required for the system to function is GRAVITY. The flow rate of a filter is determined by a combination of:
- Head pressure (The distance from the top of the water to the filter)
- Altitude (The higher the altitude, the slower the flow rate)
- How clean the filter is
- The filter itself (there are slight variations between filters)
Maintenance of this filter is very simple. When the filter starts to slow down or clog, simply backwash it with clean water using the syringe provided in the kit. Since the filters can continuously be back-washed and re-used, they have an extremely long life expectancy. The ease of operating this system makes it self-sustainable and dependable.
These filters provide potable water for drinking, but also for cleaning, bathing, cooking, watering plants and more.
The bucket system is essential for aid in natural disasters. This system would eliminate the need to ship bottled water.
Community filters are $35 (not including shipping) and will provide enough clean water for 100 people per day. If maintained properly, they will last for many years.
