The Renegade Filter is the lightest and most versatile filtration system we offer. It weighs 3 ounces, rolls up, and takes up virtually no space in your pack.
The Renegade Filter has a removal rate of 0.10 Micron Absolute, at a 7 log (99.99999%) rate, exceeding EPA and NSF recommendations.
WHAT IT REMOVES
Bacteria which cause:
Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid, Amoebic Dysentery, E. coli, Coliform Bacteria, Streptococcus, Salmonella.
Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora
Exceeds EPA Requirements
Removal Rate of 99.99999%
Highest Filtration Rates Available
At 0.1 micron absolute, it is impossible for any bacteria, protozoa or cysts to pass through the filter. Other filters at .02 micron absolute, it is impossible for viruses in addition to bacteria, protozoa, and cysts to pass through the purifier. These are true barrier filters.
Waves For Water currently offers the 0.1 filter system. If you're in need of a filtration system dealing with bacteria with the addition of severe viruses then the .02 would be recommended.
Please note we do not offer or sell the .02 filtration system.
Extremely Cost Efficient
Because of the filters long lifespan and low cost, one system can provide clean water for a family, for pennies a day.
Since there is such a high flow rate, the need to store water is eliminated, which reduces the chances of water being contaminated after it is filtered. The only external force required for the system to function is gravity. The flow rate of a filter is determined by a combination of:
- Head pressure (The distance from the top of the water to the filter)
- Altitude (The higher the altitude, the slower the flow rate)
- How clean the filter is
- The filter itself (there are slight variations between filters)
Maintenance of this filter is very simple. When the filter starts to slow down or clog, simply backwash it with clean water using the syringe provided in the kit. Since the filters can continuously be back-washed and re-used, they have an extremely long life expectancy (up to 1 million gallons). The ease of operating this system makes it self-sustainable and dependable.
These filters provide potable water for drinking, cleaning, bathing, cooking, feminine hygiene, infant care, and more.
These filters are $35 (not including shipping) and will provide enough clean water for 100 people per day. If maintained properly, they may last for many years.
